Mirabel is klutzy, tender hearted and sensitive – and Beatriz also encapsulates these characteristics: making her one of Disney’s most endearing heroes.

2. John Leguizamo as Bruno Madrigal

The one that particularly stands out and became memorable is John Leguizamo playing as Bruno, the family member considered a pariah and has the unique ability to see the future. Her acting reflects the tension the film puts on Luisa to remain strong, be it in the physical and as the rock of the family, and has fans enamoured with the ballad “Surface Pressure.” This is why Darrow created a very appealing character Luisa has strengths and feels doubt and vulnerability like any strong woman.

5. María Cecilia Botero as Abuela Alma

As a head of the Madrigal family, Abuela Alma bears the burden of many years worth of generations’ history. Finally, María Cecilia Botero does a good job of playing authoritative yet warm Abuela Alma. While Abuela Alma is quite strict and can scold her family members, Botero acts as if she truly cares for them, which makes her an important part of the film’s sentimentality.
