
After losing her brother by suicide almost two years, Angel Carter has succeeded in translating her grief into meaning.
“I told myself, When Aaron died I said, ‘We have got to do something to continue the conversation about mental health, and we’ve got to use his platform to turn it into something positive.’” ‘[In essence in ensuring that Aaron’s platform becomes something that is positive and has value for society, Nobody knew Aaron like I did and that I am confident this is the thing that integrated Aaron’s platform in his right mind].
“But due to some schizophrenia incidences, drug and alcohol abuse he forgot his identity due to family problems,” she continued. “I hope to be the vessel for him to take that conversation forward and do a complete role reversal and change my family’s story.”
Aaron died in his residence in California on November 5, 2022. He was 34. the “I Want Candy” singer drowned in the bathtub, the coroner attributed the death to the toxicity level of difluoroethane and alprazolam.
He died staking his life, and the cause of death was estimated by the police to be an accident.Sister Leslie Carter died in an overdose in 2012 at age of 25, and Bobbie Jean Carter, died from “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the age of 41 years in 2023.
“Unfortunately, because of mental health issues and drug addiction and dysfunction within the family, he lost sight of who he was,” she continued. “I hope to be a vessel for him to continue that conversation and really turn my family’s narrative around.”
On November 5, 2022, Aaron was found dead at his California residence. He was 34. According to the coroner’s report, the “I Want Candy” singer drowned in a bathtub due to the effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam. His death was ruled an accident.
In addition to Aaron, Angel has also mourned the death of sister Leslie Carter — who died from an overdose in 2012 at age 25 — and Bobbie Jean Carter, who died of “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine” at 41 in 2023.
When asked to share her advice on grieving, Angel — who works with the Kids Mental Health Foundation — reminded people that they are never alone.
“It’s pretty awesome, We are all in this together” she said that to Us at the Santa Monica Pier. “The local context and its constituents and relation is what counts in the long run.”
Still, a supportive husband Corey Conrad standing by her side for 10 years, Angel continues fighting for increasing people’s awareness of mental health issues. She also need fans to have his brother in mind as a talented singer who was friendly with everyone he came across.
Aaron was such a sweetheart deep down, That’s why I lost it when they killed him off and called him a white boy. He really was,’ Angel told Us. “He was a good human.”
“I always say this about both of my brothers is that at the end of the day, they are just normal people,” she wrote while citing Aaron and another Backstreet Boys singer, Nick Carter. ‘I’m always just teasing friends and say, Nick just drives a Ford pickup truck every day when he is not performing as a Backstreet Boy. I’ll tell you, both of us were raised in Florida, and we just, you know, with the family we have at least, we are very grounded and humble people. We’re all the same.
